Housekeeping is responsible for the continuous cleaning of the facility, as well as keeping the environment safe and hazard free for entertainers, guests, patrons, and staff. They are responsible for ensuring the venue is ready to go for all events and presentable at all times. They must communicate in a friendly, respectful and understanding manner with both colleagues and guests alike. They must politely give consistent, timely and accurate information and find answers when unsure. Must be a team player, cooperate with employees within the department as well as other departments.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $16.

The Director of Food & Beverage works closely with the Assistant General Manager and culinary team and front-of-house banquets team in directing the food and beverage operations of the facility utilizing initiative and independent judgment. The Director of Food and Beverage delivers high quality food products, presentation and service execution for all Durham Convention Center events. This Director monitors, controls and audits all aspects of the food and beverage department, including but not limited to delivering quality experiences to guests of the facility, developing innovative menus for catering and concessions, hiring, training and developing current and new service staff, and ensuring proper care and handling of all food, beverage and service equipment.
This role will pay a salary of $65,000 to $85,000.

The Event Management Intern will receive hands on experience in the Venue Management industry by working in the Event Services and Food Services departments. The Events and Food Services Departments are responsible for coordination, design, execution and completion of various events held at the Durham Convention Center. The internship will consist of approximately 24+ hours a week with days and times varying depending on the event schedule.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $16 to $18.00.

The Facilities and Operations Manager reports to the Assistant General Manager and is responsible for assisting in the administration, planning, management and management of the operations of the Center including front and back of house services, information technology, conversion, custodial services, repairs and maintenance, temporary labor, and equipment inventory control. Insures an effective and cost-efficient program by controlling the Operations budget, and performs related day-to-day responsibilities as required.
Coordinates all elements of facility operations including budgeting, purchasing, directs the operation and maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, custodial, grounds, sound, lighting, a/v equipment, tele-communications systems, security, smoke/fire detectors and egress and traffic control.
This role will pay a salary of $45,000 to $55,000.

The Cook is responsible for preparing menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment. The Cook must adhere to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction. Portion control, food waste and sanitation are additional areas that the Cook must be aware of while operating in the kitchen.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $17 to $20.00.
