Overview

OVG Facilities is looking for part time facilities operations team members, to work on-site at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center & Municipal Auditorium. The newly redesigned complex boasts 529,000 sq.ft. including a 13,500 seat arena, 100,000 sq.ft. of meeting space with the largest room of 72,400 sq.ft, 50,000 sq.ft. of exhibit space, a 25,000 sq.ft. ballroom with ample pre-function spaces, 760 seat theater, and a 3,400 seat auditorium. The Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center hosts a variety of events, including sporting events, world-class entertainment, conventions, meetings, banquets, and other social events.

 

OVG Facilities, a division of the Oak View Group, is a full-service venue management and event programming company that operates and books arenas, theaters, convention centers, and amphitheaters throughout the U.S. delivering customized management plans for each of their venues.  OVG Facilities specializes in event programming, booking services, and creating unique experiences that focus on providing premium content to enhance the guest’s experience. 

 

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $10.50 to $13.50.

Responsibilities

TICKET SELLER

The Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center is looking for part time ticket sellers to sell and distribute tickets and to resolve ticketing issues on-site at the CCCC and Municipal Auditorium. 

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:  

  • Process customer ticket sales and customer pickups
  • Answer guest questions with regard to event and facility (i.e. location of sections, price of tickets, dates of future events)
  • Handle in a positive manner complaints, discrepancies, or other ticketing issues with guests and staff
  • Utilize Ticketmaster software to troubleshoot any and all ticketing issues (training provided)
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, proficiently, and in accordance with company policies
  • Answer phone for questions and / or take orders
  • Operate cash register and credit card equipment
  • Assist with closing of the ticket office, preparations of cash banks, updating seating charts and event information. 

TICKET TAKER 

The Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center is looking for part time ticket takers to sell and distribute tickets and to resolve ticketing issues on-site at the CCCC and Municipal Auditorium. 

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ticket scanning, security screening, assisting with guest questions, directing guests around the venue, etc.  
  • Provide exceptional guest service during all events held at Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center
  • Monitor and report any potential unsafe situations to management  
  • Foster a positive and enjoyable environment for all guests attending an event  
  • Find opportunities to improve the guest experience 
  • Engage guests in a proactive manner to answer questions and communicate security requirements, while ensuring they enjoy their time in the arena 
  • Monitor assigned areas to ensure all security requirements and arena rules are being followed
  • Maintain order at events, while keeping a cool head under pressure

 

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Must be able and willing to:  
  • Stand and walk for four to six hours at a time  
  • Have a flexible schedule and be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary 
  • Work inconsistent and variable hours depending on event schedule 
  • Read, speak and understand English (ability to speak multiple languages a plus, but not required)  
  • Work in a variety of different environments, indoors and outdoors, which may contain loud noise, bright lights, and ranging temperatures  
  • Must be comfortable around large crowds
