Overview

The Accounting Manager is a member of the senior management team for OVG at the CFG Bank Arena. We are looking for a proactive, driven, and collaborative professional who will be responsible for helping establish the financial infrastructure and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.

 

The Accounting Manager must be detail-oriented and have a passion for rolling up his/her sleeves.  The culture at OVG supports those who possess a broad and strategic business perspective with a demonstrated tactical ability. Salary: $90k-$100k

For FT roles:   Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, 401(k) matching, and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).

 

For PT roles: Benefits: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing the budget and monthly financial forecasts
  • Development and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and checklists
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Projecting event deals, actual event P&L's, analysis, and "settlement" of shows on the night of events
  • Oversee accounting and forecasting of all premium seating and sponsorship revenues
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Oversee the revenue and expense recognition process that follows contract terms and GAAP
  • Lead the annual venue GAAP audit
  • Lead other special projects as requested by leadership
  • Monitors compliance with all provisions of the management contract
  • Maintains contact with Risk Management Department and Insurance broker for coordination of appropriate coverage
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

    • S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university
    • CPA or MBA a plus
    • 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience in public accounting and/or financial management at a supervisory level or as department head
    • Venue/Live Entertainment Industry experience is preferred
    • Be a business partner with other departments ensuring financial success of the venue
    • Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting
    • Superior Excel skills
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Demonstrated attention to detail
    • Ability to learn quickly, open to change and enjoy the challenge of unfamiliar tasks
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and ambiguous environment; handle multiple tasks with the ability to re-prioritize and shift priorities quickly
    • Written/Oral communications - ability to speak and write clearly and concisely, get messages across that have the desired effect
    • Experience with ADP payroll, and Net Suite accounting system preferred

     

     

     

    Working Conditions:

    • Minimal Travel (<5% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required
