Overview

OVG Facilities is looking for irregular part time parking attendant to work on-site at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center & Municipal Auditorium. The newly redesigned complex boasts 529,000 sq.ft. including a 13,500 seat arena, 100,000 sq.ft. of meeting space with the largest room of 72,400 sq.ft, 50,000 sq.ft. of exhibit space, a 25,000 sq.ft. ballroom with ample pre-function spaces, 760 seat theater, and a 3,400 seat auditorium. The Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center hosts a variety of events, including sporting events, world-class entertainment, conventions, meetings, banquets, and other social events.

OVG Facilities, a division of the Oak View Group, is a full-service venue management and event programming company that operates and books arenas, theaters, convention centers, and amphitheaters throughout the U.S. delivering customized management plans for each of their venues.  OVG Facilities specializes in event programming, booking services, and creating unique experiences that focus on providing premium content to enhance the guest’s experience. 

 

The basic function of this position is to ensure the appropriate number of cars is kept on location throughout shift, the appropriate amount of money is collected, and cars are being parked in an appropriate fashion and the garage / lot is kept clean and presentable.

Responsibilities

  • Controlling/monitoring entry to the guests’ and employees’ parking lots
  • Provide all guests a positive first impression by offering World Class Service
  • Monitoring parking lots for safety and security of guests and employees and vehicles
  • Provide guests with directions and other venue information
  • Direct guests and employees to available parking spaces
  • Ability to maximize amount of vehicles per lot
  • Respond to all comments/complaints in a prompt, courteous and professional manner
  • Cash Handling-collect cash and/or coupons and maintain security of cash
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance during all scheduled shifts

Qualifications

  • Prior parking experience strongly preferred
  • Customer Service and Cash Handling abilities are a must
  • Must be polite, friendly and possess excellent interpersonal skills as this position has extensive guest and employee contact
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • The ability to work various hours as needed including nights and weekends
  • The physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances
  • Ability to work outdoors with extreme heat and weather conditions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 25 pounds with or without
  • Ability to visually observe close, distance, peripheral with or without
