This position helps coordinate the day-to-day operations of the facilities (arena, basketball facility, ice rink, meeting rooms), including set-up/changeovers, custodial/housekeeping, maintenance, and grounds keeping.  The Conversions Manager helps manage, supervise, and coordinate the set-up and operations of the building including managing and overseeing building changeovers. Assists the Director of Operations in coordinating overall administrative planning, direction, and policies while maintaining the highest quality service program to ensure client satisfaction.  Assists in the development and management of annual Operations Department budget. 


This role will pay a wage of $40,000 - $45,000


  • Manage and oversee changeovers and setups including event set-up and tear-down of i.e., dashers/plexi glass for hockey, basketball floor, hoops, stage risers, chairs, tables, signs, etc.
  • Select, train, motivate and evaluate staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures.
  • Coordinate, and review the work plan for changeover, facility maintenance and operations; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assign work activities, projects, and programs; monitor workflow; review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures.
  • Helps manage the basketball practice facility needs- cleaning, maintenance, etc.
  • Helps develop, maintain, and manage operating procedures relating to changeovers.
  • Oversee the administration of all operations department part time staff: Hire, train, schedule, evaluate, and motivate
  • Assists in negotiation and administration of contracts with outside vendors
  • Participate in the development and administration of the Operations Department budget; Forecasting of future funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures.
  • Order supplies and materials for building supplies and maintenance within budget guidelines; receive and maintain supplies
  • Assist in developing preshow department staffing estimates of expense for the Event Manager and Accounting.
  • Review and recommend day to day operational policies and procedures for the Operations department
  • Maintain, organize, and keep inventory department equipment
  • Coordinate labor hours for staff. Report labor allocations to Director of Finance.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate record keeping system, including equipment maintenance and inventory logs.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Operations


  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an operations position in arena, convention center or public assembly facility with knowledge of set up/housekeeping and event coordination including progressive supervisory responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university in a related field (Facility Management, Engineering, Sports Management, etc.) preferred; High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to function in a fast paced, high-pressure environment and possess superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with general office PC applications
  • Knowledge of budget preparation and control.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and prioritize quickly.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including, early mornings, overnights, weekends, holidays, and extended number of consecutive days.
