This position is responsible for assisting the VP of Sales with long-term bookings and assisting in supplementing long-term booking activity with short-term tradeshow, consumer, and some local event booking. Service and contract prospective and confirmed clients and facilitate transition of clients from sales to event planning.



  • Assists the VP of Sales with follow-up of leads and sales functions such as sales blitzes, fam trips, visits, etc.
  • Handles telephone inquiries and follow-up with availability and pricing information.
  • Performs site visits.
  • Handles written correspondence to prospects and customers, including sales proposals.
  • Uses Sales and Marketing principles to promote the facility.
  • Quotes rates and assists with formal license agreements. Prepares contracts.
  • Conduct regular direct sales visits to inquiries and pre-qualified prospective clients on regional and statewide basis.
  • Send client pre-event information and follow-up information that affects booking.
  • Negotiate and quote rental rates with prospective tenants with approval from the VP of Sales.
  • Structure and oversee in-house telemarketing campaign to prospective clients.
  • Develop bid proposals for potential clients and follow through on pending bookings.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to association, corporation, and other organizations interested in renting the facility.
  • Entertains prospective clients of the Convention Center.
  • Reports daily to the VP of Sales information on potential sales leads and existing client relations.
  • Maintains an active role in local hospitality community and professional associations.
  • Attend in-house event-related meetings and relays immediate changes with other departments.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales solicitation an revenue quotas
  • Assists the VP of Sales with updating marketing literature as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Travel is required for this position


  • BA degree in industry-related discipline preferred.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles necessary to promote the Center.
  • At least two (2) years of practical sales experience in hotel, arena, convention and visitors bureau or convention center or sports team.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong orientation to customer service and ability to work with other staff members in the facility.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with Customer Relationship Management System Software (CRM).
  • Results oriented individual with the ability to meet required sales and marketing goals.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work irregular hours in addition to normal as needed.
  • Some travel as needed.
