The Banquet Server plays a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by providing professional and efficient food and beverage service during events. The on-call Banquet Servers primary function is to ensure that all guests feel welcomed and attended to, following event specifications and service standards. From the setup of banquet spaces to the seamless execution of meal service, Banquet Servers maintain an acute focus on detail and hospitality. Banquet Servers work collaboratively with kitchen and event staff to ensure the timely delivery of courses, adapt to guest needs in real-time, and uphold the ambiance and quality of the event. Beyond serving, Banquet Servers contribute to the overall success of events by maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the service. Banquet Servers reset spaces for subsequent events and ensure that all equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately. Whether it's a formal gala, a corporate event, or a wedding reception, this applies. Banquet Servers are integral in creating a positive impression of the venue and event host, embodying professionalism, efficiency, and a guest-focused attitude. 

This role pays an hourly rate of $12.00 - $14.00 and is tip eligible.

From a small board meeting to a consumer or trade show, a large convention, or an elegant wedding, the Convention Center's ample size and versatile space can be tailored to meet your needs perfectly. We have the facility, the staff, the services, and the equipment to make each event a complete success. Our venue also hosts one of the area's largest ballrooms.

• Reads and understands banquet event orders. 
• Provides fine-dining-level food and beverage service to guests for all events, consistent with standards of service.
• Initiates and maintains friendly and professional contact with guests, ensuring that all needs are anticipated and met.
• Setup and maintain both food and beverage stations in various locations throughout the building consistent with standards of service.
• Maintain an inventory for both food and beverage stations. 
• Maintain all event areas and front-of-house staging areas in a tidy and organized manner.
• Participate in both the setup and cleanup of food and beverage service items. 
• Works independently during slower times.
• Perform safe work by helping to create a safe and clean work environment. 
• Has a high level of social contact and deals often with patrons. 
• Ensures that work is accurate and complete. 
• Maintains a customer-focused, positive, and professional attitude. 
• Assist with the complete setup and breakdown of the banquet area.
• Relay food and beverage orders.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and awareness of sanitary practices.
• Anticipate guests’ needs and exceed customer service expectations.
• Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
• Relay important information about orders, allergies, and special requests to the appropriate person.
• Respond urgently and appropriately to any concerns.
• Present in professional appearance and mannerisms.
• Supports other areas such as concessions, bars, and performs other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent GED strongly preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted. 
• 6 months to 1 year of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred. 
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects often. Ability to carry at least 8 entrees per tray.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and select holidays. 
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). 
• Must be punctual with consistent attendance. 
• Must be able to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers.
