Position Summary

The Operations Supervisor supervises and coordinates event setup activities and operations/changeover crew for the facility and provides responsible staff assistance to the Manager. The Operations Supervisor will maintain the cash room following all OVG standards for cash handling and reporting.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $21.00.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor changeover and housekeeping crews; provide team support as required.
  • Schedule appropriate changeover and housekeeping crews for a large group of employees accurately and efficiently and adjust/notify employees of updates/changes as necessary.
  • Oversee the cash room and cash handling and reporting.
  • Maintains and updates all POS equipment; notifies General Manager when repairs are needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients to provide a positive employee climate.
  • Assume management responsibility for all services and activities involved in the operations of all venue spaces.
  • Provide staff training for all employees and temporary workers.
  • Ensure staff are working safely and are aware of proper safety guidelines.
  • Assist and help coordinate staff training and safety programs.
  • Assist in planning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing work plans for facility operations.
  • Review and understand event documents to forecast staffing and equipment needs for all events.
  • Supervise facility arrangements with concessionaires and production department

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3+ years’ experience in an operations position in an arena, convention center, public assembly facility, or similar location, with knowledge of setup/housekeeping and event coordination.
  • Advanced computer skills and experience with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel preferred.
  • Ability to effectively supervise a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards / requirements.
  • Possess superior interpersonal, communication, and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Self-motivated and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work long hours, including a varied schedule of days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
