Position Summary

The Café Station Attendant is responsible for preparing, stocking, and maintaining assigned café service stations while providing exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment. This position assists with food and beverage preparation, serves guests, operates the point-of-sale system as needed, and ensures all stations remain clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout each shift. Café Station Attendants may work in various areas of the café, including food service, beverage stations, grab-and-go, cashier, and dining support.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $19.00 - $23.00.

Oak View Group is proud to operate the food and beverage program at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. The hospitality operation features a diverse portfolio of dining experiences, including a multi-concept café, a modern luxury restaurant, a licensed Starbucks location, and a robust special events catering program. The team is dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences through outstanding food, service, and hospitality within one of the nation's premier cultural destinations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, courteous, and efficient service to all guests.
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages according to company recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Operate assigned café stations, which may include hot food, grab-and-go, beverage, coffee, bakery, or cashier stations.
  • Maintain product quality, freshness, and proper food temperatures.
  • Restock food, beverages, condiments, utensils, and supplies throughout the shift.
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and process guest transactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, dining areas, and service counters.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to supervisors.
  • Assist with receiving, rotating, and storing food and beverage products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
  • Support opening, closing, and daily cleaning responsibilities.
  • Assist with catering, special events, or banquet support as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with culinary, café, and other food and beverage team members.
  • Respond professionally to guest questions and resolve concerns by escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous food service, café, restaurant, coffee shop, concession, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Experience operating a point-of-sale (POS) system is a plus.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Basic math and cash handling skills preferred.
  • Food Handler Certification required (or ability to obtain within required timeframe).
  • Alcohol service certification may be required depending on assigned work area.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and fast-paced environments.
