Position Summary

The Restaurant Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service while creating a welcoming and engaging dining experience for guests. This position prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintains bar operations, and supports restaurant service standards. The Restaurant Bartender combines beverage expertise, hospitality, and attention to detail to ensure every guest receives outstanding service in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.50 and is tip eligible.

About the Venue

Oak View Group is proud to operate the food and beverage program at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. The hospitality operation features a diverse portfolio of dining experiences, including a multi-concept café, a modern luxury restaurant, a licensed Starbucks location, and a robust special events catering program. The team is dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences through outstanding food, service, and hospitality within one of the nation's premier cultural destinations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, specialty beverages, and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Provide attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable service to guests seated at the bar and within designated service areas.
  • Make menu and beverage recommendations and answer guest questions regarding food and drink offerings.
  • Verify guest age and comply with all responsible alcohol service laws and regulations.
  • Accurately enter orders and process transactions using the point-of-sale system.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and appearance of the bar area at all times.
  • Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and supplies throughout service.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs to supervisors.
  • Collaborate with servers, hosts, culinary staff, and management to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety standards.
  • Complete opening, closing, and side-work duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous bartending experience in a full-service restaurant, hotel, resort, lounge, or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic math, cash handling, and POS system experience.
  • Alcohol service certification required or ability to obtain it upon hire.
  • Food handler certification preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Ability to transport beverage products, glassware, and supplies safely.
