Position Summary

The Figure Skating Program Coordinator is a part-time position and serves in an expert support and program leadership capacity for the Everett Community Ice Rink's figure skating programming. Working under the direction of and in close collaboration with the Programs Manager, the Figure Skating Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development, delivery, and quality of figure skating programs at the rink.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $26.00

Responsibilities

  • Develop program materials and curriculum. Serve as the lead resource for figure skating programming, applying professional expertise in instructional methods and delivery, balancing program growth and excellence with the goals and operational capacity of the facility.
  • Provide support and leadership for figure skating programs, including Learn to Skate, Aspire, and figure skating activities, to ensure a consistently high standard of program quality and customer experience.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of figure skating programming, including set-up and tear-down of sessions, resolving operational issues as they arise, and scheduling of coaches across figure skating programs as directed by the Programs Manager. Respond to on-ice incidents, engage rink staff as necessary, and document the incidents.
  • Serve as a resource for parents and skaters on figure skating at the Everett Community Ice Rink and the sport in general.
  • Serve as a resource and point of professional guidance for figure skating coaches, providing support, feedback, and mentorship. Work constructively to resolve coach concerns and issues, escalating as appropriate. Assist in expanding the figure skating coaching roster, support onboarding and training of new coaches, and provide ongoing guidance on coach development.
  • Submit program documentation and reports needed, including coaches' pay sheets.
  • Collaborate effectively with rink staff and work constructively within the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Significant competitive and/or coaching experience in figure skating at an advanced or elite level.
  • Experience and familiarity with U.S. Figure Skating (USFS) curriculum, programs, and competitive pathways.
  • Current or prior Learn to Skate USA, U.S. Figure Skating, or equivalent governing body membership and/or certification preferred (including SafeSport certification).
  • Current first aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain it prior to the start date.
  • Availability to support rink programming across various scheduling needs, including daytime, evening, and weekend sessions for Learn to Skate classes and higher-level figure skating programs.
  • Maintain respectful and professional relationships with all staff, customers, instructors, and members of the rink community.
  • Represent the Everett Community Ice Rink positively and professionally at all times.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage coaches, skaters, families, and rink staff.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing coaches or instructors is preferred.
  • Passion for growing the sport of figure skating and a commitment to a positive, inclusive rink community.
