Position Summary

As a member of our Third Party Sales Team as part of the larger OVG Global Partnerships group, the Director of Global Partnerships will be responsible for driving the development of new sponsorships on behalf of OVG’s third party clients. This position will work hand in hand with the Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships to build sponsorship strategy and cultivate c-level relationships to bring value and profitability to our clients and OVG. We are looking for hard-working, creative individuals who have a passion for sports and entertainment.

 

Suitable for the role are commercial professionals who have a track record of success in developing significant new sponsorships for a variety of sports properties, delivering high value deals with creative activation strategies intertwined. Strong candidates will possess high level commercial relationships across North America amongst brands, agencies, leagues and properties.

 

This role pays an annual salary of $160,000-$180,000 and is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Act as one of the key stakeholders in OVG Global Partnerships commercial sales process.
  • Work with Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships to help develop a strategic plan to drive revenue for Third Party properties, including day to day management of one or more Third Party property clients.
  • Prospect, develop and sell new integrated sponsorships to accomplish individual sales goals.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of all OVG GP Clients and OVG properties/initiatives and be able to work toward integrating, aligning, and executing broader Global Partnerships team sales goals.
  • Work with Third Party clients and the Global Partnerships team to design innovative integrated sponsorships that deliver value to brands and our Third Party clients.
  • Create and effectively maintain reporting documents in an organized manner; develop and track new revenue pipeline to present to senior leadership and our clients, etc. on an ongoing basis.
  • Monitor relevant developments in the markets where our clients do business as well as the entertainment/sporting industry more broadly.
  • Attend networking and promotional events to develop and maintain contact with potential clients and professional partners.
  • Must have the ability to network and create relationships while working efficiently in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Minimum 25% travel expected.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred.
  • History of closing sponsorship deals of at least $1M in annual investment
  • 10+ years of professional sponsorship experience in a high-performance sales environment; Sports, Entertainment and/or Arena Industry experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong natural selling skills with proven experience in outreach, discovery, strategic positioning, pitching, proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
  • Experienced with the development and execution of dynamic and effective platforms.
  • Must have the presence, visibility and record of accomplishment which will enable him/her to immediately establish credibility both within the organization and with individuals outside.
  • Must produce results and be bottom-line oriented yet will possess sensitivity towards people and values.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be dynamic, forward-thinking, extremely analytical and well organized.
  • Must have strong strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word); Adobe Creative Cloud suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Kore
  • Familiarity with the standard demographic research & analytics tools (i.e.- Scarborough, Repucom, Zoominfo, SponsorUnited, You Gov, etc.) and ability to derive insights from the data.
  • Must possess problem solving capabilities to address and resolve issues that face a growing enterprise. When necessary, he/she will be a strong and effective negotiator, comfortable in both complex negotiations as well as sophisticated business situations.
  • Must be comfortable engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non- verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills.
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.
