Position Summary

The Kichen Prep Cook supports the event-based kitchen operations and must be reliable and detail-oriented. The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting the culinary team to ensure efficient food production and high-quality standards.

 

This role will pay an hourly rate between $13.00 to $15.00

About the Venue

Home of the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds baseball team, AutoZone Park serves as a year-round venue for events of all types and purposes, located in Downtown Memphis.

Responsibilities

  • Wash, chop, slice, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and chef instructions.
  • Measure and portion food to maintain consistency and reduce waste.
  • Prepare basic items such as sauces, dressings, and simple dishes.
  • Label, date, and store food properly following food safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary prep area.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to kitchen leadership.
  • Properly clean and store kitchen tools, equipment, and workstations

Qualifications

  • Must be availble during the day. 
  • Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations.
