Position Summary

The Hockey & Recreation Coordinator will support the planning and execution of youth and adult hockey programs at the Iceplex. Reporting to the Hockey Manager, this role includes coaching, customer support, administrative tasks, and event coordination.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $25.00 - $28.00

Responsibilities

  • Assist Hockey Manager with all Youth & Adult Hockey programs, Clinics, and tournaments.
  • Head Coach for Youth Rec and Camps/Clinics
  • Adult Hockey Committee Board member
  • Assists with the response to customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Assists with coordinating and recording registration for hockey programs.
  • Performing various administrative duties to include hockey programing, scheduling, USA Hockey memberships, stats, and emails.
  • Assist in building Iceplex youth and adult marketing database to support the hockey and skating programs.
  • Supervises, coordinates, and personally participates in the activities of Iceplex recreation programs and special recreation events.
  • Provide building support, as necessary as manager on duty.
  • Performs other work as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience working with youth & adult hockey programs.
  • Previous Hockey Coaching experience.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate effectively and efficiently – both written and oral.  
  • Knowledge of USA Hockey Programming.
  • Strong sense of creativity and organization.
  • Proficient in various platforms such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Background and understanding of a Learn to Play, Youth Recreation, and Adult Hockey Program.
  • Sense of ownership and pride, in your performance and its impact on the company’s success. 
  • Team player with excellent time management skills.
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented, resourceful, quick learner and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be a clear communicator and cross-organizational collaborator.
  • Full Coach Compliance (Including: USA Hockey Membership, Background check, SafeSport training, Liability Insurance).

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee constantly operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, etc; occasionally moves about inside the office to access storage areas, cabinets and office machinery; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information; and constantly moves about the arena and event sites before, during and after events to service clients and. Talking and standing for long periods.

 

Work Environment:

The essential functions of this position are performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to loud during events, depending on the incumbent’s location, and minimal during non-event times.
