Position Summary

The  Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for effective distribution/warehouse operations including inventory, receiving, clean-up, transfers and equipment maintenance. The Warehouse Supervisor must provide a high level of event oversight, technical proficiency and operational/personnel support to ensure the smooth running of (or preparation for) any assigned event. The Warehouse Supervisor will work with the Warehouse Manager and Assistant Warehouse Manager to actively supervise, coach, counsel, direct, train and mentor employees in meeting company quality standards.  

  

This is a key position for the effective and profitable operation of the business. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work at a variable event-driven schedule which includes evenings and weekends. Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction and strong management, and independent decision-making skills are required. 

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00-$20.00

David Booth Memorial Stadium is home to the football team at the University of Kansas. This outdoor stadium provides a thrilling game-day experience, combining the excitement of college football with the passionate support of KU’s fan base. The venue is a key location for major football games and special events, offering a dynamic atmosphere for sports enthusiasts. 

Responsibilities

  • Work from general instructions and specifications. 
  • Responsible for product purchasing/ordering, receiving and distribution control for the venue. 
  • Ensure that established procedures for tracking purchase orders, requisitions, receiving dockets and perpetual inventory are maintained; report any deviation to the Warehouse Manager. 
  • Maintain and manage sanitation and organizational systems of all warehouse storage areas. 
  • Maintain warehouse inventory and ensure system controls of warehouse inventory at all times. 
  • Provide direction to part-time warehouse staff to ensure all established lay-ins are completed for each event, in addition to requisitioning during events, post-event break down, warehouse returns, equipment storage, sanitation and maintenance. 
  • Responsible for ensuring that purchase order system is adhered to for all orders received at each warehouse; verify proper specification, size, quantity, etc. of goods received; supervise proper labeling, dating and stocking of supplies. 
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets for all products and properly organized and available to all personnel. 
  • Oversee and ensure that appropriate stocking levels are met for each event; rotate and maintain integrity of product. 
  • Conduct walk through of the warehouse, shops and storage areas after the completion of the day to ensure all areas are clean. 
  • Oversee daily operation as either opening or closing manager on duty. 
  • The vision requirements include the ability to adjust focus, peripheral vision, and close vision. 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Minimum of 2-years experience in warehouse/inventory management.  
  • Demonstrated skills in managing multiple functions and interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and a commitment to team results are required. 
  • Ability to work various workdays and hours to meet business needs including early/late hours, long days, weekends and holidays.  
  • Must be reliable and punctual. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
  • Forklift Certification preferred or should be acquired within 60 days upon hire. 
  • An ability to proficiently utilize Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook); training on industry-specific software will be provided. 
  • Work from general instructions and specifications, with minimal supervision. 
  • Communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment. 
  • Work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment. 
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of all existing facility locations: geographical location, equipment, evacuation procedures, adjacent employee and guest areas, and facility access. 
  • Consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a physically demanding environment. 
  • Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours at a time, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, and reach/lift above head in conjunction with venue tasks. 
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
