Position Summary

The Regional Event Sales Director is a key leadership role designed to enhance the performance, consistency, and success of event sales across all social clubs within Oak View Group.

 

The Regional Event Sales Director is the strategic connector between club-level event sales teams, general managers, assigned corporate divisions, and CRM platforms—ensuring every club is equipped with the tools, training, structure, systems and support needed to exceed event sales goals.

This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Content Development and Private Events, with dotted line reporting to Senior Vice President of OVG Social Clubs, and serves as the main liaison for implementation of Corporate OVG initiatives.

 

This role pays an annual salary of $120,000 - $140,000 and is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities

Strategic Sales Leadership

  • Develop and guide annual event sales strategies for each OVG Social Club, tailored to local markets, target demographics, and seasonal patterns.
  • Collaborate with club leadership to map outreach and activation plans across a 12-month cycle, aligned with measurable sales goals.
  • Implement uniform sales frameworks across all clubs to standardize operations, outreach, pipeline tracking, and measurement.
  • Drive aggressive growth for OVG Social Clubs in the meetings & events industry through proactive outbound sales prospecting (calls, emails, LinkedIn), RFP lead generation, in person and presentation-based sales engagements, and representation of the club’s event services at assigned national events
  • Work in tangent with National and Regional event sales counterparts to ensure a unified effort, shared participation in the National Sales & Marketing Plans, and lead sharing.

Hiring & Onboarding Sales Talent

  • Support GMs during hiring by evaluating candidates’ event sales acumen and leadership potential.
  • Create assessment tools and best practices to ensure new hires meet regional performance standards.
  • Lead onboarding of new event sales leaders, ensuring they have clear sales expectations and ramp-up plans.

KPI Creation & Accountability

  • Define and implement core event sales KPIs for each club.
  • Standardize task expectations and workflows that drive KPI achievement.
  • Track and report KPI progress regularly, providing transparent updates to assigned corporate points, sales teams, and GMs.

CRMs & Technology Integration

  • Ensure consistent and effective use of CRMs across all OVG Social Clubs for opportunity tracking, outreach logging, and pipeline management.
  • Collaborate with the CRMs admin team(s) to address user pain points, implement improvements, and deliver training.
  • Manage automated outreach and follow-up workflows through CRMs or integrated tools to support lead generation and booking efficiency.

Sales Training & Development

  • Lead Bi-Weekly Event Sales calls with the club sellers’ focused on outbound sales initiatives, prospecting, and closing business.
  • Lead quarterly training sessions on outbound sales, lead conversion, client follow-up, and referral strategies.
  • Provide targeted coaching to address club-specific challenges and opportunities.
  • Serve as a mentor to all club event sales team members, fostering continuous improvement across the region.

GM & Club Leadership Alignment

  • Educate and support General Managers in understanding event sales strategies, individual team member performance, and best practices for sales team support.
  • Facilitate regular alignment meetings with GMs to ensure joint ownership of sales goals and outreach execution.

Marketing & Awareness Integration

  • Act as the bridge between social club event sales and OVG’s Global Marketing team to ensure clubs receive tailored and impactful marketing support.
  • Own the social media strategy and content calendar for event sales, ensuring alignment with club-level goals and messaging.
  • Oversee SEO strategy and Google Ads campaigns in coordination with OVG marketing, customizing by market and offering.
  • Collaborate with clubs to develop event-specific collateral (e.g., open house materials, promotional flyers) to ensure sales teams can focus on prospecting and closing.

Disciplinary & Performance Support

  • Partner with GMs to manage underperformance, create improvement plans, and provide coaching to prevent formal disciplinary action.
  • Offer data-driven insights and strategic coaching to help course-correct struggling team members before escalation becomes necessary.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in sales leadership, preferably in membership-based organizations, hospitality, or private clubs.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM systems - Tripleseat & Salesforce preferred.
  • Deep understanding of sales funnel management, pipeline development, and outreach strategy.
  • Experience training sales professionals on outbound sales and performance-based growth.
  • Ability to create strategy and drive tactical execution.
  • Confident communicator with a track record of cross-functional collaboration.
  • Marketing knowledge and ability to speak the language of digital campaigns, SEO, social media, and brand messaging.
  • Must be able to travel up 50% of the time. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams.
  • Membership club experience, a plus.
