Position Summary

The Concessions Worker prepares and serves concession items to guests within concessions stands, portables or grab and go stations. Prepare food and beverages and serve them to guests. Ensures quality of food presentation. Utilizes a register to order and accept payment from guests. Must be able to maintain excellent attendance in accordance with the attendance policy.

 

This role will pay an hourly rate of $12.00-$15.00 and is tip eligible.

About the Venue

The David Booth Memorial Stadium is home to the football team at the University of Kansas. This outdoor stadium provides a thrilling game-day experience, combining the excitement of college football with the passionate support of KU’s fanbase. The venue is a key location for major football games and special events, offering a dynamic atmosphere for sports enthusiasts.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct the register sales by taking orders, building orders, and completing the transaction.
  • Ability to build orders, prepare food, and knowledge in all areas of concessions operations.
  • Responsible for maintaining stock and supply levels and communicating to the Concessions Supervisor of low stock items.
  • Listening and responding to customer requests or concerns.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workspace including but not limited to disposal of garbage & cleaning dishes.
  • Serve beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages responsibly. Must check guest’s ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify minimum age requirement for purchase of alcoholic beverages.
  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Some experience in the food service industry preferred
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred
  • Ability to learn to handle cash and learn to operate a cash register and corresponding system
  • Excellent interpersonal skills & a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, managers, volunteers & guests
  • Ability to work flexible event schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)

Physical Dimensions:

  • Performing the duties of this position involves extensive and continuous standing and walking
  • Routine activities require the employee to be able to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
  • The employee is frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds
  • The vision requirements include the ability to adjust focus, peripheral vision and close vision
