Position Summary

The Assistant Manager, Box Office position will assist in the comprehensive management of all ticketing operations. Responsibilities include building, managing and settling a wide variety of events. Working with Premium Seating to fulfill ticket commitments and orders, daily receipts and staff scheduling. Product specialization will include Host, Archtics, Entry, Account Manager, TM Platinum, and TicketExchange. The Assistant Manager, Box Office must be able to confidently interact with promoters, tenants and other departments within the organization. This role is supported by and works closely with the entire ticket operations team. This is a full-time position that frequently requires attendance at evening and/or weekend activities, performances and events. Ability to work flexible schedule based on events, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

 

This role will pay an hourly rate of $24.00-$28.00.

About the Venue

The Greensboro Complex is a versatile multi-building facility that serves the community of Greensboro and its surrounding areas. It hosts a wide array of events, such as athletic competitions, cultural arts showcases, concerts, theater performances, educational activities, fairs, exhibits, as well as public and private gatherings, including conventions, convocations, trade shows, and consumer shows. It plays a crucial role as a hub of community activities and significantly contributes to the regional economy. The Complex is made up of nine venues, the largest being the renowned 22,000-seat First Horizon Coliseum, which has a storied history of hosting prestigious ACC and NCAA basketball championships, and a concert history featuring legendary artists like Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, and Elvis Presley, as well as today’s biggest artists like Drake, Bad Bunny, and Taylor Swift.

The Complex also includes the 167,000-square foot Special Events Center, encompassing three exhibition halls, a 4,500-seat mini-arena, and eight meeting rooms. Additionally, there is the White Oak Amphitheatre, Piedmont Hall, the Novant Health Fieldhouse, Greensboro Aquatic Center, The Terrace, ACC Hall of Champions, and the 300-seat Odeon Theatre. As one of the most actively booked facilities in the country, the Greensboro Complex annually hosts over 1,100 events. Its extraordinary flexibility and reputation have earned it worldwide acclaim among promoters, producers, event planners, and patrons alike.

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage and settle a wide variety of ticketed events using Ticketmaster, Archtics and Universe.
  • Communicate with promoters, tenants, and full time staff members to ensure information is correct and events are successfully built and completed.
  • Manage events throughout the life cycle including inventory, holds special offers and programs. 
  • Responsible for day of show Box Office support for venue, promoter and customers, with night of show settlement and reporting as required.
  • Work with premium seating to process and fulfill contractual ticket commitments and ticket orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Responsible for balancing daily box office revenue and preparation of daily sales reports.
  • Prepare bank deposits according to the Finance Department’s requirements.
  • Assure that ticket buyers receive good customer service and have a positive experience with the Box Office by training representatives in customer service techniques.
  • Hire, schedule and supervise all part time staff for the ticket office.
  • Provide full service ticketing for local tenants (including account management and all other ticketing requirements for the tenants).
  • Assist with preparation of all required Box Office reports to management and other departments during the event life cycle.
  • Assist with set-up and maintenance of proper Box Office procedures (with direction from Corporate).
  • Process internal and promoter ticket requests.
  • Update and troubleshoot the computerized ticketing system and software across all box offices.
  • Manage all aspects of ticket scanners including setup, programming and maintenance. Send related attendance reports as needed.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A post-secondary BA degree is strongly recommended however, event and/or ticketing industry experience is viewed equivalently.
  • At least two years of experience with the Ticketmaster suite of products including Host, TMOne, Archtics, and Mobile Technology.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, supervisory skills and excellent interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with the public, are required.
  • Superior customer service skills including but not limited to thoughtful listening, oral and written communication skills and conflict resolution.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Candidate must be able to successfully handle multiple priorities in occasional high stress situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Position requires the ability to accommodate a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as being able to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, yet comfortable completing tasks independently.
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented, resourceful, quick learner and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A high degree of personal integrity and consistently put the interests of the organization first.
  • Must be a fierce communicator and cross-organizational collaborator.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing.
