Position Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the production of facility-managed consumer shows to include audience development, event sales, show administration, marketing of shows and selling of booth space including maintenance of exhibitor contracts and records.

 

This role pays an annual salary of $45,000-$50,000 and is bonus eligible.

This position will remain open until August 22, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary sales representative in recruiting, soliciting, and servicing vendor booth sales for GCC self-promoted public shows.
  • Serves a primary contact with selected General Services Contractor (decorator) to ensure satisfactory service to the GCC, show vendors, and show partners.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records of vendor contract status, deposit compliance, and communication of and vendor adherence to show standards.
  • Under the direction of the DOSM, advises on the development of show floor plans, activations, show marketing and growth initiatives, and new show development.
  • Identify audience and develop plans to generate audience attendance at shows.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager, and DOS on vendor and attendee communication.
  • Provide periodic pace reports of booth sales for each show.
  • Stay abreast of current industry trends and utilize knowledge to implement new ideas and displays into shows.
  • Create a vendor advisory board for each show. Hold regular meetings and solicit feedback.
  • Responsible for reviewing and managing show budget and re-forecasting budget each year.
  • Determine required staffing levels for each show and coordinate with DOS & Event Manager.
  • Book and maintain current and future show dates and spaces in the Momentus System.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Event Manager.
  • Oversee the production of exhibitor prospectus and applications, as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of contracts with third party suppliers such as the decorator.
  • Develop and maintain customer relations.
  • Work with DOS and Decorator to create a show floorplan.
  • Lease the sales effort sponsorship opportunities.
  • Supervise on-site show production.
  • Coordinate market support necessary to generate exhibit sales and attendance.
  • Select vendors in accordance with building policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of new shows.
  • Communicate with staff regarding operations, marketing and financial management of events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the DOS.
  • Sales Collateral Development.
  • Contracting each exhibitor at a pace that results in equal or better leased space annually.
  • Working with marketing to develop exhibitor advertising.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of hospitality and tradeshow industry.
  • Knowledge of local fire code as at pertains to the facilities’ shows.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience with AutoCad or other computer aided drafting software a plus.

 

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in hospitality, convention, show management, or related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of management and/or supervisory experience.
  • Certified Exhibition Manager (CEM) designation a plus.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Daily sitting, focusing on and operating a personal computer or terminal keyboard to enter data for over 60 minutes at a time.
  • Ability to read printed words and numbers in printed form and on computer/terminal monitor.
  • Communicate by telephone for up to 30 minutes at a time daily.
  • Ability to be mobile throughout the building several times a day.
  • Ability to travel by automobile and/or air.

 

 

 

HOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Work a flexible schedule as needed to support event goals.
  • Requires on-site presence during show hours.
  • Travel as necessary to support sales efforts.
