Position Summary

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all aspects of financial and accounting activities at the facility. This position will work directly with the Accounting Manager and the Staff Accountant on various financial activities. The ideal candidate is an experienced accountant, detail-oriented, proactive, and a collaborative professional responsible for supporting the financial infrastructure of Moody Center.

 

This role will pay an annual salary of $69,000-$71,000.

Responsibilities

  • Support facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and in compliance with State and Federal law, and policies and procedures. 
  • Provides expertise and direction to the staff accountant with daily tasks and acts as their first point of contact. 
  • Work assigned events and prepare event settlements. 
  • Complete flash reports within 72 hours of event. 
  • Reviews and executes all checks and deposits, reviews daily cash receipts and disbursements.  
  • Complete bank reconciliations. 
  • Perform & Review balance sheet reconciliations, analyze discrepancies, and suggest course of correction. 
  • Review credit applications 
  • Reviews appropriate state and local tax returns to be filed timely. 
  • Ensure the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, operating expenses, and insurance records. 
  • Review, execute and approve journal entries. 
  • Assist with AP oversight. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or similar focus.
  • 3-4 years minimum of relevant work experience; experience with events in stadiums, arenas, or other venues is preferred. 
  • Experience analyzing data for accuracy.  
  • Superior Excel skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • Demonstrated attention to detail. 
  • Ability to learn quickly, open to change and enjoy the challenge of unfamiliar tasks. 
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and ambiguous environment; handle multiple tasks with the ability to re-prioritize and shift priorities quickly. 
  • The role requires the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required. 
  • Must be familiar with CUPA Programs.
