Position Summary

The Senior Event Manager will manage every aspect of their assigned events from the advance planning stages through the end of the event including coordinating with promoters, tour management, artist management and production companies; hire, train, schedule and supervise all event staff; oversee building security and interact with local public safety officials to ensure events run smoothly; coordinate communication between event staff/security and delegate assignments; be responsible for and ensure overall customer and tour/show satisfaction and experience. Additional duties include oversight of outdoor summer music venue, Hideaway Brew Garden adjacent to the Arena.

 

This role pays an annual salary of $55,000-$65,000.

About the Venue

NOW Arena is an 11,800-seat multi-purpose family entertainment, cultural and sports center. Seating capacity for the arena ranges from 3,000-6,000 for theater shows; 9,400 for football, hockey, lacrosse and soccer games; 10,000 for basketball games and 11,800 for concerts. The Hideaway Brew Garden is adjacent to the arena where we provide live music and entertainment to the local community over the summer months.   

Responsibilities

  • Advance each show/event with appropriate show/promoter representative in a timely fashion
  • Work with show/promoter representative on show specific rentals, staffing and union needs then provide cost estimates as required/requested.
  • Works with local union on calls and payroll for shows.
  • Communicates all event information to the appropriate Departments and staff internally.
  • Manage event security plans in conjunction with event security provider and appropriate show/promoter representatives to ensure safety of all patrons and staff.
  • Create a floor CAD based on the information given by the Director of Box Office/Show and work with the Operations Manager, and ensures that event set-ups are accurate.
  • Prepares and distributes Event Data Sheet to all staff and Departments in a timely manner
  • Prepares post event report for all events coordinated
  • Required to serve as Manager on Duty for various events as scheduled which includes nights, weekends and holidays. Point of contact for client upon arrival through the entire event. Communicates with the client on how to contact them if assistance is needed.
  • Preparation of and submission of expenses for event settlement. Attend settlement if required
  • Executes other operational duties as assigned
  • Determine proper staffing levels according to patron safety, event requirements and general facility security to ensure safety of all patrons and staff.
  • Develop training orientation for new staff and develop ongoing training programs for all event staff including but not limited to customer service levels and emergency response plans
  • Creates staff calls, secures rentals and helps manage the Hideaway Brew Garden over the summer months.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree from a college or university preferred.
  • 5/+ years of experience same or similar position in arenas, convention centers, stadiums or theaters preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible and sometimes demanding schedules (including nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, CAD, Ticketmaster, and event management software preferred.
  • Experience working with unions.
