Position Summary

The Sanitarian has a primary duty of developing, implementing, and overseeing all environmental health and safety programs at Allegiant Stadium.

 

This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, promotes a culture of safety among employees and guests, and supports the stadium's sustainability initiatives. The Sanitarian plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible venue for all events and operations.

 

This role pays an annual salary of $70,000-$80,000.

 

For Full-Time roles: Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, 401(k) matching, and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).

 

This position will remain open until June 20, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Safety Program Development: Design, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs to ensure a safe environment for employees, contractors, and guests during all stadium events and daily operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Stay current with changes in safety and environmental laws and regulations, and update policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to mitigate identified risks.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver safety training programs for all staff, including emergency response procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe work practices.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and coordination with local emergency services.
  • Conduct regular drills to ensure staff readiness.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Support and promote Allegiant Stadium's sustainability programs, such as waste diversion, energy efficiency, and water conservation efforts.
  • Collaborate with the sustainability team to achieve environmental goals.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and regulatory compliance documents.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies as necessary.
  • Vendor and Contractor Oversight: Ensure that all vendors and contractors comply with the stadium's safety and environmental policies.
  • Conduct safety orientations and monitor compliance during projects and events.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve safety and environmental performance.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance the stadium's EHS programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental health and safety management, preferably in a large venue, stadium, or similar environment.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar EHS certifications are preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices and LEED certification processes is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Basic computer proficiency: E-mail, Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Ability to work a variable work schedule (including evenings and weekends, as required), depending upon event and business requirements.
  • Must be able to project a professional manner and appearance, and communicate effectively with clients, staff and the general public.
  • Able to conduct inspections in various areas of the stadium including walkind, climbing, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Exposure to varing weather conditions during outdoor inspections and events.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects (files, boxes, product, trays).
