Position Summary

The Accounting Manager reports to the Finance Director plans, and manages many aspects of financial, accounting, purchasing and internal control functions for the management team by performing the following duties.

 

This role will pay a yearly salary of $85,000 to $100,000

This position will remain open until May 30, 2025.

Oak View Group is a sport and entertainment company engaged in a wide variety of activities, including area development, facility management, arena and stadium alliance, sponsorships, publications, conferences and consulting.  Dallas Fair Park covers 277 acres just southeast of downtown Dallas. It's cultural, educational, musical and sporting facilities play host to well over 2 million people annually.  Fair Park hosts hundreds of activities and events each year including festivals, fairs, concerts and theatrical productions. Declared a national historical landmark in 1986 with a very unique Art Deco. Fair Park Dallas is home to multiple institutions to this day, such as: the Music Hall, Children's Museum, Texas Discovery Gardens, the iconic Cotton Bowl Stadium and has hosted the State Fair of Texas since it opened.           

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the month-end close process, including managing the percentage of completion files for ongoing projects to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance on financial decisions, utilizing your expertise to provide valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Assist in maintaining balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the integrity of our financial records. 
  • Monitor the overall accounts receivable and accounts payable system including weekly billing, collection, invoicing and payment processing.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures, prepare bank deposits, reconcile bank accounts.
  • Supervise the expense and spending on ongoing contracts and projects. Compare with budgets and review with principal to ensure the alignment between actual cost with budget. Coordinate timely meeting or phone calls with clients to assure any issues are resolved quickly.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, provide recommendation on corrections and adjusting journal entries and record journal entries upon approval.
  • Perform various complex account analyses and reconciliation. Assist with annual external auditing and tax activities.
  • Perform account analysis to assist with ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Plays key role in monthly and quarterly close process.
  • Communicate with multiple levels, including the senior levels in the organization and escalate issues to appropriate management.
  • Prepare event folders, assist with event settlements, and event reconciliation
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to contribute to finance initiatives
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited college/university with major course work in accounting, finance, or business administration or a related field required; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of Arena/Hotel/Convention Center accounting experience required.
  • May require working beyond normal business hours, including nights, weekends and holidays based on event calendar.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work well with all levels of management, problem solving skills and ability to mentor
  • Knowledge of NetSuite is preferred, or similar accounting software.
  • Prior supervisory responsibility preferred.
