Position Summary

The Premium Clubs Bar Manager is responsible for the effective management of all Venue Premium Bar locations, operations including inventory controls, product ordering, training new employees, cash controls, compliance with alcohol service polices, cleaning, safety, guest service, employee training and supervision, troubleshooting, closing duties, event planning support, and any other tasks assigned by the Senior Management Team.  The Premium Bar Manager must provide a high level of event oversight, technical proficiency and operational/personnel support to ensure the smooth operation of the Stadium in all Premium Bar areas, must be willing to enforce all OVG personnel and operating policies and procedures and plans, organizes, and executes the service requirements of each event and determines all scheduling and product components required to properly service events within budgetary guidelines.

 

The Premium Bar Manager will actively supervise, coach, counsel, direct, train and mentor employees in meeting company quality standards, and will/ may initiate or recommend employment actions such as hiring, termination, suspension, discipline, promotion and transfer.  The Premium Clubs and Bar Manager will provide oversight and resolution responsibility for employee performance issues.  Actively and independently manage all aspects of employee relations to ensure a positive, harmonious, enthusiastic, compliant and cooperative work environment. The Premium Bar Manager executes activities at the venue into a team effort that contributes to the success of all events.

 

This is a key position for the effective and profitable operation of the business. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule which include evenings and weekends. Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction and strong technical (computer and POS) aptitude required.

 

This role will pay a salary of $55,000 to $75,000.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all premium bar locations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for bar operations, including opening/closing procedures, inventory management, and cash handling.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring proper stock rotation and minimizing waste.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in all bar areas.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and liquor control regulations.
  • Manage point-of-sale systems and ensure accurate transaction processing
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of bartenders, barbacks, and support staff.
  • Schedule staff effectively to meet the demands of events and ensure adequate coverage.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and address any performance issues. 
  • Motivate and inspire the team to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Ensure that all guests receive prompt, courteous, and personalized service.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge, including cocktail recipes, wine selections, and beer offerings.
  • Create and maintain a welcoming and upscale atmosphere in all premium bar areas.
  • Monitor and manage bar revenue and expenses, ensuring profitability.
  • Implement strategies to maximize sales and minimize costs.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit accurate financial reports.
  • Collaborate with event planners and other departments to ensure seamless execution of premium events.
  • Coordinate bar setup and breakdown for events.
  • Anticipate and address any potential issues that may arise during events.
  • Work with the food and beverage director to develop and implement specialty drink menus for special events
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or greater in Culinary Management, Business Management, or related field
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Restaurant Management, other Food & Beverage Management, or related experience.
  • Degree requirement may be substituted for four or more years’ experience in Restaurant Outlet Supervision, Food & Beverage Management or related position.
  • Solid working knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft office, POS systems, timekeeping system.
  • Experience training new employees and volunteers
  • Advanced knowledge of inventory procedures and controls
  • Experience ordering product for a high-volume venue or facility
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to make sound business/operations decisions (i.e. regarding employee placement, staffing adjustments, and/or respond to technical, product or equipment challenges during an event) quickly and under pressure.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess thorough working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, safety standards, etc. pertaining to concession operations.
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory.
  • Ability to consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality.
  • Nationally recognized food service sanitation training course certification preferred
  • Nationally recognized alcohol service training course certification required

 

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office platforms as well as POS systems

 

Other Qualifications:

  • Serve Safe Manager Certification Required
  • Performing the duties of this position involves extensive and continuous standing and walking.  Routine activities require the employee to be able to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.  The employee is frequently required to lift up to 75 pounds.  The vision requirements include the ability to adjust focus, peripheral vision and close vision.
