Position Summary

Under general supervision of the Operations Manager, the Operations Foreman supervises and coordinates the set-up/changeovers of the Arena and Conference Center events. This position provides direction to Operations Supervisors, Leads, and Crew.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $26 to $28.

This position will remain open until May 16, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and participate in conversions of the Arena and Conference Center.
  • Performs pre-event inspections and ensures that sufficient equipment and personnel are available to properly convert the facility
  • Performs post-event inspections and reports any building or equipment damage or loss
  • Monitor workflow and inspect the completion of all assigned tasks to guarantee all specifications are met
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are returned to their proper place after a conversion
  • Train new hires and supervise part-time and/or contract staff.
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance of the Arena and all facility equipment as directed
  • Monitor equipment and supply inventory and advise when orders are needed
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in multiuse facility operations.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in supervision of others/work crews. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of facility and arena operations, changeovers and setups.
  • Working knowledge of operations equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, staging, basketball floors, hockey glass, etc.
  • Ability to follow written instruction, interpret AutoCAD drawings and execute plans.
  • Ability to supervise staff in performance of changeover functions.
  • Capable of working nights, weekends and holidays, as well extended hours when needed.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and function under stress.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements. 

Licenses/Special Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Forklift certification is preferred but not required.

Physical demands:

  • Must be physically capable of heavy lifting (75 pounds), assembly and orderly set-up or physical facility inventory items including dasher boards, hockey glass, basketball flooring, staging, seating, tables and other event driven needs.

Work environment:

  • The duties of this position are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate to loud during events and minimal during non-event times.
