Position Summary

A member of the Operations Changeover Team reports directly to the Operations Manager. The position is primarily responsible for the changeover in the Arena from one event to another.  Additionally, a member of the Operations Changeover Team may be involved in other aspects of building maintenance to include painting, trash disposal, exterior facility care, snow removal, furniture moving, etc.  This responsibility requires physical labor and heavy lifting and therefore has lifting requirements.  The Operations Changeover Team is a vital component of the Arena in responding to the needs of promoters and clients – a positive attitude and a positive appearance are essential.  

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $18.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events. 
  • Setting-up and tearing down flooring, chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other furnishings and equipment. 
  • Responding to promoter/clients’ needs as directed. 
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. 
  • Perform various duties to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility are met including, but not limited to, loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash and waste to proper disposal area and replenishing supplies 
  • Assist, when necessary, with pre/post event cleaning, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, carpet cleaning 
  • Meet the physical demands of this job, which include being able to get in and around the facility, bending, lifting, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, and moderate to loud noises. 
  • Work boots are required and provided by the employee for all shifts. The arena will supply hard hats that are required at designated times on an event day.    
  • Maintain outside grounds including parking areas, garage, entrances, and event plaza.  Snow removal of outside area is required.   
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed such as painting, patching, and other conversion related operational equipment 
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively in both oral and written form. 
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, scissor lifts or other light power equipment.  Training and certification required.   
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, clients, and patrons encountered in the course of employment.  
  • Work effectively under pressure and stringent schedule to produce accurate results. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

As this position is classified as Essential Personnel, mandatory overtime may be required.  Additionally, an employee may be required to work before and/or after regularly scheduled shifts and/or work through breaks and lunchtime.  Employees must be available to work as needed during evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

Qualifications

Required Experience & Qualifications: 

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the ability to perform all essential duties and responsibilities in a satisfactory manner.  Work flexible shifts, including mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays depending on event schedule. 
  • Ability to work under deadlines dictated by event schedules and project timetables. 
  • Ability to work independently and as a team. 
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.   
  • Must be adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.  

 

Working Conditions: 

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required. 
  • Extensive time spent with moderate to loud noises. 
  • Frequent bending, lifting 50 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, standing for long periods of time, extensive walking through the building.
