Position Summary

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing operational support to the General Manager and the Director of Finance, as well as event and box office duties as needed.

 

This role pays an hourly wage of $25 to $28.

About the Venue

The Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center is a multipurpose venue designed to host theater, music, dance, art and spoken-word performances. Adjoining event spaces can host more than 300 for gala seating, or be transformed into settings ideal for conferences, seminars, meetings and weddings. Majestic mountain views are abundant from the PAEC’s perch above the city, an enchanting backdrop for striking event photographs. The center’s premier location in South King County, just 20 minutes south of Sea-Tac Airport, is ideal for business, educational, social, charitable and private events. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support under direction from the General Manager, Director of Finance, and other managers as required 
  • Perform general administrative functions including mail distribution, photocopying, filing, record-keeping, ordering, and maintaining office supplies 
  • Assist the Director of Finance in general accounting functions 
  • Perform accounts payable tasks such as processing and entering invoices and payment requests, printing checks 
  • Perform accounts receivable tasks such as payment coding and entering into appropriate system 
  • Assist in preparation of reports and presentations, under the direction of General Manager and Director of Finance 
  • Perform filing and record keeping duties 
  • Assist with various event-related duties 
  • Assist in Box Office with selling tickets 
  • Answer, screen, and direct phone calls 
  • Other clerical duties as assigned 

Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED is required 
    • Able to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Sharepoint experience a plus 
    • Consistent and reliable attention to detail, accuracy and validity 
    • Effective interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, coworkers, superiors, and business contacts in a professional, timely, and courteous manner 
    • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and with all levels of management 
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines 
    • Demonstrated ability to adhere to strict levels of confidentiality, discretion and ethics
