Position Summary

The Sanitarian will be responsible for daily kitchen sanitation operations including the supervision of all part-time kitchen staff in regards to the quality control and safe production of all food products with strong emphasis on the safety and sanitation standards within all F&B outlets.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $18 to $22.

About the Venue

The Footprint Center is in the heart of downtown Phoenix, home to the Phoenix Suns and Mercury professional basketball teams and a variety of special events and concerts tear round-making it the preeminent destination for sports and entertainment in the southwest.

Responsibilities

· The basic function of the Sanitarian is to provide technical and administrative assistance to the Executive Chef with regards to ensuring effective operation of the kitchen safety standards and safe food production in F&B outlets.

· Scheduling and task management of dishwashers and stewarding team.

· Consistent coaching of NPO, temp, and OVG staff of proper storage of food items, proper temperature control documentation, and the organization/ catalog of all facility refrigeration/ freezer monthly logs.

· Assists culinary management team in the training of staff with regards to local health department requirements and other related topics.

· Ensures proper sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment.

· Ensures that all kitchen equipment is in good working order and submits repair request if needed.

· Ensures that all kitchens maintain necessary requirements of cleanliness and sanitation.

· Regular audits of stored & labeled food items throughout the facility/ property.

· Ensure SDS sheets are accurate with all on site chemicals.

· Responsibility of tracking of upkeep and routine maintenance of OVG culinary equipment based on manufacturing and warranties.

· Ensure all hot box temperature logs are being completed during service and collected post event.

· Restocking of cleaning supplies and chemicals to all OVG operated locations

· Responsible for oversight of rotation of food products and cleanliness ensuring compliance of local health code.

· Ensures all bars, 3 compartment, and hand sinks are operational, fully stocked, and up to local health code.

· Ensure the work environment is safe and free from potential safety hazards, immediately address all safety concerns, accidents or incidents. Relays safety/health issues to management immediately.

Qualifications

· At least 1-2 years’ experience working in a supervisory capacity in a food & beverage environment.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Food safety manager certified.

· Has an attitude of continuous improvement; contributes new ways to create efficiencies or work more effectively either individually or as a team member

· Ability to follow all sanitation procedures

· Ability to support in leading a team

· Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations

· Extremely organized and detail- oriented, resourceful, quick learner, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

· Ability to manage in a fast-paced environment
