Position Summary

The operations crew memeber will perform a multitude of tasks to include event preparation, event presentations, move-ins, move-outs, and general day to day maintenance or needs. Depending on event schedules, hours of work may be long and varied. Crew members are responsible for maintaining the appearance of the facility including snow and ice removal, mowing and trimming, weeding and spraying, painting, cleaning, and other tasks as they arise. 

 

This role will pay an hourly rate between $16.00

About the Venue

This position is based at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center in Shawnee, OK. The 52 acre complex is only 40 minutes from the intersection of I-40 and I-35, the crossroads of America. It includes an outdoor arena seating 7500 and 19,200 square foot indoor arena seating 1000, 152,400 square feet of total exhibit space. It offers 366, 50-amp full hook up RV sites, four comfort stations containing showers, washers, dryers, and restrooms. It also has 133 additional 50-amp spaces and 296 additonal 30-amp spaces with water and electricity only. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform general labor as assigned.
  • Setup and breakdown of chairs, table, other event seating, stages, dirt, shavings, etc.
  • Assists in conversion duties as assigned.
  • Maintain safe work environment.
  • Respond to tenenants and customers as needed in a professional manner. 
  • Perform preventative manintenance and repairs on all building property and grounds.
  • Follow instructions.
  • Work as a team and be able to work indepently while completing tasks.
  • Actively care for all complex equipment and property by storing equipment properly, cleaning and repairing broken or damaged items, and alerting management of any mistreatment of property. 
  • Maintain organized storage areas.
  • May be asked to operate industrial vehicles such as carts, forklifts and florr scrubbers. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivelant.
  • Ability to work days, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to function in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance and the ability to learn new skills. 
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions. 
  • Be comfortable working with the public and have strong interpersonal skills, verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to climb stairs and lift 50 pounds unaided.
