Position Summary

The Catering Sales Coordinator is responsible for all non-game day catering at Principal Park.  This position will receive all potential inquiries, sell available spaces and food packages, create BEOs, coordinate the event details with F&B and stadium personnel, and execute the event.  This position will also support premium level during Iowa Cubs games, Wells Fargo Arena catering events, and Iowa Events Center catering events.  The employee must maintain excellent communication skills, attendance, and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule, which includes evenings and weekends.  Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction and strong management and independent decision-making skills are required. 

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $22 to $26.

This position will remain open until Dec 31, 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Communication with all catering inquiries; responding to emails and phone calls in a timely manner
  • Sell event packages including rental space with food and beverage options
  • Create detailed BEOs
  • Communication with Iowa Cubs staff and F&B management staff on upcoming events and client needs
  • Invoice and collect payment from all catering clients
  • Provide supervision for premium services at Iowa Cubs games
  • Provide supervision for premium services at Wells Fargo Arena
  • Support the catering department at Iowa Events Center
  • Assist in the overall effective management of all food and beverage operations.
  • Ensure total compliance with all alcohol service policies. Monitors alcohol service throughout event to assure 100% compliance with Alcohol Service policies.  Reports any alcohol service or compliance issues to management immediately.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS perferred, or 5 years of food and beverage experience.
  • Minimum 2 years in food-related or hospitality industry.
  • Nationally recognized, advanced food service sanitation training course certification.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Solid working knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft office, POS systems, timekeeping systems.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess valid Food Handlers certificate and Alcohol Service Permit if required by state or local government.
  • Familiar with inventory cost control and menu planning.
  • Possess thorough working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, safety standards, etc. pertaining to Oak View Group and venue concession and premium services operations.
  • Ability to calculate basic and complex math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
  • Ability to consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.
