Position Summary

Under general supervision of the Environmental Services Manager, coordinate, supervise, and direct personnel, subcontractors, and the daily activities involved in the successful execution of events and maintenance of the entire facility by performing the following duties.

 

This role will pay a hourly of $16 to $20.00.

About the Venue

 The Cox Business Convention Center (CBCC), located in the Arena District in downtown Tulsa, is a modern and award-winning venue providing over 275,000 square feet of flexible meeting space.  Owned by the City of Tulsa for over 50 years, the CBCC has been host to every kind of event imaginable and proudly serves the citizens of Tulsa and guests from around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily, event and post cleaning crews.
  • Responsibilities includes interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Oversees the building grounds, ramps, stairways, plaza and entryways to present a well kept and clean appearance at all times.
  • Provides efficient and safe removal and disposal of the litter and trash from the building, meeting rooms, walks, parking areas and lawns.
  • Conduct inspections of the arena and determine priority of daily cleaning.
  • Investigate, analyze and resolve any environmental problems and complaints.
  • Act as a liaison with tenants, contractors, and facility users as needed.
  • Maintain equipment and inventory. Order all necessary supplies and materials. Coordinate needed equipment with other departments or outside service contractors as needed.
  • Report irregularities, discrepancies, damage or loss of property or any other safety concerns to supervisor.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the Senior Operations Manager.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the industrial cleaning techniques, chemical and industrial paper products, purchasing guidelines and employee management principles.
  • Possess skills and experience in labor relations and supervising /training personnel.
  • Meet the physical demands of this job, which include being able to get in and around the facility (requires personal mobility) lifting, carrying, moving, climbing steps and moderate to loud noises.
  • Able to operate light equipment: pallet jack, light truck, scrubbing machines and other light power-driven equipment.
  • Operate a personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office software.
  • Operate standard office equipment including copier, typewriter and fax machine.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with other in both oral and written form
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • At least three (3) years related experience and/or training in the public assembly industry in a supervisory or management position experience.
  • High School graduate or GED completion.
