Position Summary

This is a managerial position responsible for the administration, planning, budgeting and direction for the operations of the Center including front and back of house services, event set-up, conversion, custodial services, and equipment inventory control.

 

This role will pay a salary of $70,000 to $85,000.

This position will remain open until Dec 31, 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all staff involved in housekeeping, conversion, technical services, and 24-hour facility security.
  • Develop, maintain and manage operating procedures relating to housekeeping, technical service, and conversion.
  • Develop preshow department staffing estimates of expense for the Event Manager and Accounting.
  • Develop department budgetary data relating to 24-hour facility housekeeping, conversion, and technical services.
  • Meet with Event Manager, F&B Manager, and/or Production Manager to coordinate operational requirements for all events.
  • Review and recommend day-to-day operational policies and procedures for the Operations department.
  • Research, review, and recommend equipment, materials, and supplies required for the Operations department.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the General Manager.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the General Manager: manages subordinate supervisors and/or full-time facility workers who supervise part-time employees in Operations, IT, Conversion, and Housekeeping.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Participate in the development and administration of the Operations budget; forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures and implement adjustments as necessary within assigned responsibilities. Provide recommendations / improvements.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance appraisals; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of increasing responsibility in facility operations including housekeeping and conversion.
  • High school diploma required. College degree preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and demanding hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and prioritize quickly.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Knowledge in determining and coordinating logistical needs for very large events, preferably in a large sports arena or event facility.
  • Proficiency with general office PC applications
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with attention to detail.
  • Applicants must be proactive self-starters able to work autonomously
  • Demonstrated sound organizational, coordinating and personal interface skills. -Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays.
