Position Summary

To manage and coordinate the functions of the Marketing Division of the St. Charles Convention Center through media and public relations, promotional activities and marketing materials. Enhances the image of the facility and promotes goodwill in the community.

 

This role will pay a yearly salary of $50,000 to $58,000

About the Venue

The award-winning Saint Charles Convention Center is the most elegant full-service convention venue in the Saint Louis Metro Area.  Proudly managed by Oakview Group Management, the facility boasts 154,000 square feet of flexible space, accommodating a wide range of events from 10-3,000 attendees. An IAVM Venue Excellence Award Winner and one of St. Louis’ Top Workplaces, the venue is highly-rated by clients and staff.

 

FACILITY FEATURES

The Saint Charles Convention Center contains 1,200 free parking spaces, 21 meeting rooms and breakouts, two elegant ballrooms, and an expandable exhibit hall with carpet and drape options. In-house services include delicious food and beverage, experienced event planners, audio visual, decorating, onsite security, marketing and more. 

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute annual year-end report of the center’s performance. To Include overview of achievements, highlights, financial performance, data of events, community impact and satisfaction metrics.
  •  Develop strategies to increase brand awareness and enhance the center’s reputation as a premier event destination.
  • Manage the center’s digital presence, including website content, SEO, social media channels, and email marketing campaigns. 
  • Analyze digital performance metrics and adjust strategies to optimize reach, engagement, and conversion. 
  • Collaborate with the sales team to create targeted promotional campaigns and sales blitz that drive event inquiries and bookings. 
  • Coordinates design and layout of ads to be used in national and local publications to publicize the facility and/or special events. 
  • Works with clients to promote events on the centers website, social media platforms, digital marquee and internal screens to market and promote client events.
  • Collaborate with culinary and events team to photograph and video offerings that showcase unique images. Design ad materials and portfolios for various department to utilize for sales presentations.

Qualifications

  • Procedures, methods, and techniques of marketing, public relations, event promotions, advertising and sales.
  • Multitask oriented, organized and focused on customer service.
  • Web Analytics Proficiency: Google analytics, hotjar and adobe analytics
  • Current office methods, procedures, and equipment.
  • Proficient knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, Canva or equivalent desktop publishing program; training on industry specific software will be provided.
  • Methods of demographic research.
  • Four years of increasingly responsible and marketing experience preferably in a convention center or a major hotel. 
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course works in marketing, public relations, mass communications, journalism, business administration or a related field.
