Position Summary

This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations for premium seating options such as private and group suites as well as corporate sales and partnerships. This position will work as part of the marketing and sales team whose purpose is to drive revenue for all facets of the venue. Responsibilities will shift throughout the seasons between premium seating, corporate sales, group sales and marketing.

The Greensboro Coliseum Complex is a versatile multi-building facility that serves the community of Greensboro and its surrounding areas.

 

It hosts a wide array of events, such as athletic competitions, cultural arts showcases, concerts, theater performances, educational activities, fairs, exhibits, as well as public and private gatherings, including conventions, convocations, trade shows, and consumer shows. It plays a crucial role as a hub of community activities and significantly contributes to the regional economy.

 

The Complex is made up of nine venues, the largest being the renowned 22,000-seat Greensboro Coliseum, which has a storied history of hosting prestigious ACC and NCAA basketball championships, and a concert history featuring legendary artists like Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, and Elvis Presley, as well as today’s biggest artists like Drake, Bad Bunny, and Taylor Swift.

 

As one of the most actively booked facilities in the country, the Greensboro Coliseum Complex annually hosts over 1,100 events. Its extraordinary flexibility and reputation have earned it worldwide acclaim among promoters, producers, event planners, and patrons alike.

 

This role will pay a yearly salary of $55,000.

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for prospecting and executing outbound sales initiatives to generate new business opportunities for premium seating options and corporate partnerships.
  • Manage and coordinate relationships with new and current premium suite owners to create memorable experiences for these clients.
  • Achieve / exceed assigned sales goals while providing exceptional customer service throughout the entire sales process including post-event follow-ups.
  • Develop and execute the full sales process and all duties as they relate to sales and servicing of clients for premium seating options as well as corporate sponsors. Includes the creation of sales material, contracts and agreements, collecting payments and processing ticket orders.
  • Event day responsibilities include, but not limited to overseeing Suite Entrance, suite visits, maintaining guest and parking lists, printing tickets, etc.
  • Support in day-of-event operations associated with live and sporting events through such initiatives as media relations, corporate functions or activations, pre-show parties, client parties, merchandise, and more before, during and/or after events.
  • Coordinate with Director of Food & Beverage to ensure Assistant Prospects & Catering Manager, Suite F&B Supervisors, Hosts, Runners, and Bartenders are well trained and execute their duties at highest level of service and that the needs of all clients are met.
  • Maintain computerized records of all prospects and clients.
  • Responsible for reporting and completing tracking measures for all associated sales.
  • Track and manage daily, weekly, monthly sales reports and provide results to the finance department.
  • Manage with budget development and responsible for forecasting and compliance.
  • Assist with the creation of policies and procedures as well as operations manuals.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Business, or sports management.
  • Three to five years prior sales experience preferred, preferably in sports & entertainment.
  • Exceptional hospitality and customer focused service skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills required.
  • Must be a self-motivated team player who is a creative and proactive problem solver.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of inbound and outbound phone calls and emails.
  • Team player who is a creative and proactive problem solver.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Photoshop and have web-related background. 
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends in addition to normal business hour
