Position Summary

Performs a variety of tasks related to custodial and cleaning services before,during, and after facility use. Also responsible for routine trash removal and facility clean up. Ability to work odd or unusual hours, split shifts, or holidays in preparing for an event. Ability to perform routine custodial and minor maintenance work in the cleaning and care of the facilities. 

 

This role will pay an hourly rate of $19.00 - $21.00.

About the Venue

Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts is a state-of-the-art facility with a seating capacity of approximately 3,000. The venue is located in downtown Greensboro at 300 N. Elm Street. A $94M, state-of-the-art facility that has transformed downtown Greensboro (NC), the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts venue is home to touring Broadway productions, concerts, Guilford College’s Bryan Series, Greensboro Symphony Orchestra performances, comedy shows and all types of family entertainment.  In its remarkable first two years, the Tanger Center has hosted over 700,000 patrons, 382 events and performances and 146 sold-out shows. Presented with partners Nederlander and Professional Facilities Management (PFM), the First Bank Broadway Series is one of the nation’s top-selling one-week Broadway series with over 16,000 Season Seat Members.

Responsibilities

  • Mix and prepare cleaning products; clean Facility interior and exterior; vacuum, sweep, mop, clean and wax floors. Ensures a safe environment for patrons; removes liquids and debris from walkways through the building during events. 
  • Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and fixtures; replenish supplies in restrooms. Wash windows, mirrors, walls, and countertops. 
  • Remove and dispose of debris from parking lots, walkways, and Coliseum facilities; empty waste receptables. 
  • Perform additional staff functions for events. 
  • All employees will exercise resource stewardship and report known or expected irregularities to the immediate supervisor to ensure compliance. 
  • Required to follow OSHA and in house safety guidelines. 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D preferred.  
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of related work experience. 
  • Working knowledge of building cleaning practices, methods, supplies and equipment.  
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform routine and repetitive custodial tasks without immediate supervision. 
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, WORKING CONDITIONS AND OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURES: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • Required to successfully complete on site CPR and blood borne pathogen training.  
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb stairs throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift/push up to 25 lbs throughout the shift.
