Position Summary

Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work in the mechanical maintenance and repair of Coliseum buildings, facilities and fixtures. This position performs routine tasks and duties including but not limited to carpentry, masonry, electrical, welding, plumbing, heating air conditioning and mechanical repair work. 

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $23.00-$26.00

About the Venue

The Greensboro Coliseum Complex, commonly referred to as Greensboro Coliseum (the first and biggest building on the site), is an entertainment and sports complex located in Greensboro, North Carolina. Opened in 1959, the complex holds eight venues that includes an amphitheater, arena, aquatic center, banquet hall, convention center, museum, theatre, and an indoor pavilion. It is the home of the UNC Greensboro Spartans men's basketball team, the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA G League, the Carolina Cobras of the National Arena League, as well as the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) with their Men's and Women's basketball tournaments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain and repair a variety of mechanical tools and equipment. Read and interpret sketches, diagrams and blueprints and perform other duties as assigned. Maintain and repair Coliseum facilities and buildings including carpentry, masonry, electrical, welding, plumbing, heating air conditioning and mechanical work. 
  • Install electrical power, internet and a variety of other needs as requested during show setup and event.
  • Install, adjust, repair and inspect heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment including forced air furnaces, boilers, water pumps, chillers, air conditioning units, exhaust fans, air filters, compressors, cooling towers and heat exchangers.
  • Install, repair and replace electrical lighting systems, plumbing fixtures including sinks, faucets and pipes, light bulbs, ballasts and lights; clear any obstructions from water and sewer lines. 

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Assoiates in Mechanics ot Trade Certificatin preferred
  • Vaid Drivers License required
  • Minimum 2 years mechanical repair experience 
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external contacts.
