Position Summary

As a Director of Security, you will be responsible for leading, designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable, resilient, and secure solutions and architectures that meet the needs of our internal and external clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of various system components, and well as troubleshooting and optimizing systems to enhance performance and reliability. This role requires an individual with strong operational discipline, keen attention to detail, and good communication skills. This will include the development of internal engineering resources as well as external vendors.

 

This role pays a yearly wage of $188,000 to $208,000 plus bonus

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop system architectures and specifications based on business requirements
  • Collaborate with the other IT engineers to integrate system components
  • Conduct system analysis and ensure systems meet performance, security, and scalability requirements
  • Develop plans, strategies, and then implement and configure systems, network components, and application software to meet those plans and strategies
  • Monitor performance of deployed solutions and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams, configuration guides, and user manuals
  • Perform system testing and validation to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and clients
  • Mentor internal engineering team members through security projects and execution
  • Maintain and develop internal staff aligned to company goals and objectives
  • Manage internal responses to cyber security events and incidents
  • Develop external vendors and resources to augment or implement security projects
  • Provide a focus on delivering security tools as outlined in company roadmap through supporting internal and external engineering teams
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of experience as a Security Team Lead or Director of Security or similar experience
  • 5-7 years experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of system architecture, networking, and security principles
  • Strong knowledge of Security policy and governance frameworks
  • Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and system management tools
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of cross functional team
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) are a plus
