Position Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented senior accountant to perform accounting duties within our finance organization. The senior accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing month end close, monthly account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

To be successful as a senior accountant in this role, you should have a strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), strong financial analysis skills and experience with E-Commerce business operations. An outstanding senior accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure. The ideal candidate is proactive and a collaborative professional responsible for supporting the financial infrastructure.

 

This role will pay a salary of $100,000 to $110,000 plus bonus

Responsibilities

  • Provide finance oversight for several e-commerce businesses including billings, collections, revenue reporting and account reconciliations.
  • Preparation, review and posting of accurate and timely complex general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Reconciliation and tracking of Capital Expenditures and Fixed Assets.
  • Preparation and review of outsourced sales and use tax filings.
  • Monitor daily and identify, research, and reconcile account variances by conducting detailed analysis with a high focus on process improvement.
  • Participate in activities related to the month-end closing process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, variance explanations, financial reporting and consolidation.
  • Maintain overall accuracy and integrity of the general ledger records and reconcile cash, investments, prepaid expenses, fixed and intangible assets, accounts payable, accrued expenses, and intercompany accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare and review schedules for internal/external auditors in connection with reviews/audits.
  • Provide management with information for sound decision making by identifying issues and producing adequate management reporting.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships by working cross functionally with other disciplines throughout the company providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required, public accounting experience a plus.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in complex organizations.
  • Must have experience working in an e-commerce environment.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail with strong financial analysis skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel pivot tables and other advanced formulas.
  • Experience working in entertainment or venues is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems, with NetSuite highly preferred.
  • Must have good working knowledge of US GAAP accounting.
  • Excellent math skills, high aptitude for figures.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance in a fast paced, team environment.
