Position Summary

The Concessions Assistant will assist the Concessions Manager & Concessions Operations Manager with the overall management of the venue concessions operations including inventory controls, product ordering, employee training, cash controls, compliance with alcohol and food service policies, cleaning, safety, guest service, warehouse oversight, troubleshooting, event operational support, opening and/or closing duties, food preparation and production, and any other tasks assigned by the Concessions Manager or General Manager. The Concessions Assistant must provide a high level of event oversight, technical proficiency, and operational/personnel support to ensure the smooth operation of the Arena and Concessions department. 

 

The Concessions Assistant will assist in supervision of employees. The Concessions Assistant must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event driven schedule including evenings and weekends. Flexible availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, strong technical aptitude are required.

 

This role is full-time hourly and will pay between $18 to $21 per hour plus tips

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising all part-time concessions & warehouse employees.
  • Ensure proper set-up of all concessions locations prior to event doors. Setup duties include but are not limited to: verifying opening inventory, ensuring sanitation standards are met, verifying that each location is fully operational. 
  • Provide oversight and operational expertise resulting in the smooth execution of events.
  • Ability to oversee a large volume of inventory and manage high volume sales.
  • Supervise and run all venue concessions operations before, during, and after the event, as needed. 
  • Willing to cover or back-up any open position to assure location is fully operational.
  • Provide direction and oversight to all Concessions staff as needed. Ensure that all State & Federal policies, procedures and practices are adhered to, including compliance with alcohol distribution/service of food handling/sanitation guidelines, general safety policies and procedures. Report any alcohol service or other compliance issues to Concessions Manager & General Manager immediately. 
  • Assist with post-event evaluations, data compilation, tracking of monetary and product shortages, generating reports. 
  • Assist warehouse team in stocking, ordering, tracking product.
  • Ability to obtain working knowledge of all existing concessions locations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Concessions or other Food & Beverage preferred.
  • High School Diploma or greater preferred.
  • Experience supervising employees and volunteers.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, professional, and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Abilty to make sound business decisions quickly and under pressure.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess thorough working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, safety standards, etc. 
  • Ability to consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.
  • Nationally recognized food service sanitation training course certification preferred.
  • Nationally recognized alcohol service training course certification preferred.
