Overview

The part time Receptionist represents the Fort Smith Convention Center as initial contact for prospective clients and the general public both on the phone and in person. The receptionist will also assist guests with event information and or route necessary calls to appropriate personnel.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $15 to18.00.

About the Venue

The convention center boasts 116,800 square feet of flexible meeting space. The Fort Smith Convention Center hosts a variety of events, including conventions, conferences, meetings, tradeshows, consumer shows, special events, banquets, theater productions and other social events.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Answer Incoming calls to the Fort Smith Convention Center.
  • Assist with guest or client questions as needed.
  • Open/Distribute mail.
  • Process and log payments and deposits.
  • Process ticket requests in advance of events.
  • Run and log credit card payments for events.
  • File pay checks/distribute on payday.
  • Input lost and found items into log.
  • Order and distribute office supplies.
  • Perform filing or other office related work.
  • Prepare reports from information compiled and submitted by others.
  • Assist all team members with various administrative support duties.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager

Qualifications

  •  High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to work weekday mornings and afternoons (25 hours per week)
    • Tues: 8:30-5 / Wed: 8:30-3pm / Thurs: 8:30- 5pm / Fri: 8:30-6 (1 hour lunch on Tues / Thur)
  • Ability to work independently and remain flexible in role.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Exceptional customer service skills—outgoing and friendly personality required
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
