Overview

The Pastry Cook will support the Executive Pastry Chef & team, and will help make cookies, cakes, breads, and other pastries according to pre-established recipes

 

This role will pay a salary of $20 to $22.00.

 

For FT roles: Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, 401(k) matching, and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).

About the Venue

Peak is a premium restaurant located on the 101st floor of 30 Hudson Yards, in a State-of-the-Art building with panoramic views and situated above Edge, the highest outdoor observation deck in the city. A luxurious destination with breath-taking views of lower New York City.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and manage the pastry section of kitchen, working together with the other chefs
  • Prepare a variety of baked goods
  • Decorate and present pastries and baked goods
  • Ensure the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Able to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • Good knowledge of pastry arts and ingredients
  • Confident culinary techniques and skills
  • Good sense of planning and preparation for the day ahead
  • Diligent and meticulous in making and receiving orders
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Punctual and discipline to ensure optimal work performance
