Overview

As an usher, you will be required to check patrons' tickets, assign their seats, and provide guests with information such as program details and the location of the restrooms, refreshments, and emergency exits. To be a successful usher, you should have a pleasant demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collect admission tickets and passes from patrons at entertainment events; examine ticket or pass to verify authenticity, using criteria such as color and date issued
  • Refuse admittance to patrons without an appropriate ticket or pass, or who are under the influence of a controlled substance
  • Direct patrons to their seats
  • Assist patrons with directions or event-related questions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must demonstrate a pleasant personality and neat appearance
  • Prior customer service experience preferred; training will be provided
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekend and holidays as required
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time, work in all kinds of weather and lift up to 50 lbs
