Overview

The Food and Beverage Supervisor leads all events assigned to them by the General manager. The F&B Event Supervisor will actively manage all aspects of an event in coordination with the culinary department, events team, and F&B executive team. The F&B Event Supervisor will help in the upselling and order placement of assigned events while adhering to the hospitality / venue guidelines.

 

The F&B Event Supervisor plans and directs the activities of all assigned events that serve food and beverages. Have a wide variety of daily duties which include ordering, arranging, supervising, recording, and overseeing all food, beverage, and equipment. Coordinate with and provide excellent service to venue clients, while working with them on their event needs.

 

The F&B Event Supervisor must provide a high level of event oversight, technical proficiency, and operational/personnel support to ensure the smooth running of any assigned event.  A critical function of the F&B Event Supervisor will be to actively mentor, train and help employees and volunteers meet company quality standards. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule which includes evenings and weekends.

This role will pay a salary of $18 to $22.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the overall effective management of hospitality operations.
  • Speaks with Venue Clients and staff representatives to properly plan their needs while at the venue.
  • Upsells to external clients and places suite food and beverage orders.
  • Ensures total compliance with all alcohol service policies. Monitors alcohol service throughout event to assure 100% compliance with Alcohol Service policies.  Reports any alcohol service or compliance issues to management immediately. 
  • Provides on-going direction, supervision and mentoring to hourly event staff. Monitor product quality and ensure a high level of guest service.
  • Assists in troubleshooting technical problems with Point-of-Sale Systems, from both a hardware and software perspective.
  • Helps coordinate event employee schedules and verifies employee time as required.
  • Assist in the on-going training, development, mentoring and supervision of hourly employees, as directed by department managers; responsible for completing documentation of employee performance and attendance issues in accordance with company policy and practice.
  • Assist in the management of hospitality events from set-up to tear down, including handling all communication with hourly staff, culinary staff, and guests.
  • Build relationships by networking and prospecting with key decision markers, establish and develop strong and effective relationships with influencers using professional, courteous, and ethical interpersonal interaction.
  • Coordinate and deliver effective sales presentations when assigned.
  • Independently sources, identifies, and pursues outside networking opportunities through professional industry resources and community events, or special events attended by prospects.
  • Responsible for submitting finalized BEOs to Client and Internal Staff.  
  • Address all assigned event requirements and requests in a timely and helpful manner.
  • Maintain accurate records for all assigned hospitality event sales.
  • Communicate daily with the General Manager, Executive Chef, catering staff, and Operations Staff about the needs of our guests and their expectations.
  • Assist with follow-up of guests’ experience at the venue, ensuring that all issues have been addressed.
  • Communicate proper staffing levels as needed for hospitality events.
  • Responsible for detailing and inputting assigned client food and beverage orders.
  • Monitor actions of staff and customers to ensure that health and safety standards and liquor laws are followed.
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

 

Qualifications

  • At Least 1-2 years’ experience working in a supervisory capacity in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment or applicable Education.
  • Ability to supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory.
