The Event Police Officer is responsible for building security and ensuring all operational activities are effective and meet efficiency and customer satisfaction requirements.

This position is based at our Stormont Vail Events Center. The 80-acre site in the center of Topeka now known as the Stormont Vail Events Center has a long history of use for activities related to agriculture, farming, exhibitions, education and entertainment. Stormont Vail Events Center is a 10,000-seat multi-purpose arena built in 1987 in Topeka, Kansas. Landon Arena, named for Kansas' elder statesman, governor Alfred M. • Patrol all assigned locations as directed, stationary and mobile.
• Work independently, judges and assesses situations for immediate response.
• Secures property from damage, theft, and vandalism.
• Courteously investigates persons who look suspicious or out of place.
• Responds to emergencies, incidents, accidents, and requests for service as required.
• Maintains records, logs, databases, filing systems, and other necessary records/forms as directed by the Security Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Valid Driver’s license required.
• High School diploma or GED certification.
• Six months to one year of security experience, preferably in a similar environment.
• CLEET Certified Law Enforcement Officer.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Exhibit excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions.
• Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
• Regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
