Overview

The Café Cashier/Barista is responsible for managing and maintaining all café standards and procedures across Brûlée Catering’s café portfolio. The Café/Cashier Barista is expected to deliver excellent customer service while creating a warm and friendly atmosphere for all guests.

This is a key position for the effective and profitable operation of the business.  The employee must maintain excellent attendance, open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction and strong management, and independent decision-making skills.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $15 to $18.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
  • Greet customers in a pleasant and friendly manner throughout the entire transaction.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and specialty drinks – ranging from simple to elaborate recipes.
  • Prepare and serve all food items such as sandwiches, soups, pastries, etc.
  • Be knowledgeable about all menu items and clarify any concerns about allergies and dietary restrictions.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers and management team to ensure the highest company standards are always met.
  • Maintain café appearance and sanitation standards – including keeping café counters, storage areas, tables, kitchen, and dry storage organized and presentable.
  • Keep café stocked with all operational supplies – including food and beverages, condiments, utensils, and paper products.
  • Ensure all cases and coolers are fully stocked throughout the entire shift while maintaining appropriate temperature, keeping waste logs, and properly rotating perishable items.
  • Evaluate and modify processes to improve efficiency and quality of service.
  • Fulfill all duties according to the opening and closing duty sheets.
  • Maintain register bank and all paperwork according to café requirements.
  • Arrive at work on time in a clean uniform that complies with the uniform policy.

 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • Previous cashier/barista experience, especially in a café environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to train others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Must be able to tolerate industry standard chemicals used for cleaning and sanitizing.
