The Operations Team makes our building function properly for each and every client or patron who walks through the doors. These positions set-up, maintain and tear-down equipment for each event while meeting the needs of every customer.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $12.00.

Western Kentucky’s award-winning venue – the Owensboro Convention Center – is a full-service facility overlooking the scenic Ohio River in revitalized downtown Owensboro, Kentucky. The multi-purpose center boasts just under 102,000 sq. ft. of available space, including a 44,000+ sq. ft. exhibition hall, the 8,900+ sq. ft. Kentucky Legend® Pier outside over the scenic Ohio River, and additional ballroom, meeting, and pre-function space.

The Sportscenter, one of Owensboro’s most historic buildings, opened in 1949. It is a multi-purpose, 5,000-seat arena that hosts concerts, sporting events, graduations, trade shows, meetings, and receptions.

• Must be able to work in a manner that is safe and effective.
• Works event set-ups and tear-downs
• Aids in facility maintenance and building upkeep of both venues
• Operates various equipment including forklift if needed
• Providing great customer service to all clients and employees
• Maintain equipment and ensure orderly and clean storage area
• Maintain good working relationship with all vendors
• Operates Audio-Visual equipment as needed

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
• Must have at least 1 year of experience in a related field
• Experience in a public facility highly preferred.
• Reliable transportation and working contact information is required
• Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work events including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills
