Overview

This position is responsible for the solicitation and execution of Advertising, Event Sponsorship, Premium Seating, and corporate sales for Stormont Vail Events Center on behalf of Global Partnerships. This individual will supervise and coordinate all activities of the Global Partnerships department to reach budget goals and generate revenue for the facility. Essential functions include extensive sales, development, and servicing of corporate sponsorship and partnerships while maintaining high levels of client service, reporting and collaborating with the Global Partnerships executive team on developing regular strategic plans for securing sponsorships.

 

This role will pay a wage of $70,000 to $80,000.

About the Venue

The 80-acre site in the center of Topeka known as Stormont Vail Events Center as of June 2019, formerly known as the Kansas Expocentre, has a long history of use for activities related to agriculture, farming, exhibitions, education and entertainment.

 

Stormont Vail Events Center hosts more than 500 events annually including concerts, sporting events, family shows, commercial exhibitions, and serves as home field for the Topeka Tropics football team, part of the champions Indoor Football League.​

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the prospecting, selling, cultivating, and maintaining of corporate partnerships and premium seating
  • Responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of corporate partner fulfillment for clients, as well as ensuring all department fulfillment is handled on time
  • Responsible for servicing all corporate sponsorships through various means including, but not limited to, direct contact and partner gatherings
  • Responsible for constant client outreach and development of the new business relationships
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting prospective new sales and inventory throughout the season
  • Responsible for managing Premium Seating areas within Stormont Vail Events Center
  • Responsible for providing sales reports, updates and reporting into CRM and other systems as required
  • Responsible for creating recaps and sponsorship summaries for partners
  • Responsible for the creation of sales proposals and presentations for potential partners
  • Responsible for being proactive and anticipating needs or issues internally and externally
  • Responsible for creation/implementation of new idea/opportunities that drive revenue
  • Responsible for engaging larger businesses for regional and multi-venue partnerships
  • Manage internal and external sales process, on-site employees, reporting to the Regional Director of Partnerships and the Facility General Manager
  • Responsible for achieving established sales goals and budgets as set by the Regional Director of Global Partnerships and Facility General Manager
  • Responsible for attending weekly meetings at the Facility and Global Partnerships sales calls on time
  • Work directly with other departments of Oak View Group and City (marketing, operations, accounting, box office, tenant team personnel)
  • Responsible for working events on both nights and weekends
  • The Other duties as appropriate for a department head
  • Other duties as assigned by Regional Director or Vice President of Global Partnerships

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in outside sales with extensive sponsorship sales experience; industry experience in sports, entertainment, or municipal marketing strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Multi-lingual abilities preferred but not essential
  • Has existing advertiser contacts and relationships in the Topeka market or the ability to secure these contacts and relationships through personal interaction pro-actively
  • Demonstrates or has prior advertising/sponsorship experience/knowledge of local corporate market and/or industry
  • Bachelor’s degree or better from an accredited college or university
  • Proficiency with data processing, Salesforce/CRM and MS Office applications (including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint)
  • Ability to work nights, all events, weekends, events, and holidays as required
  • Ability to work independently both efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once
