Moody Center is offering a paid internship for the Summer Semester. We are looking for students who want professional level experience and have the initiative, skills and drive to excel. This program will give college students an opportunity to work alongside professionals in the live entertainment, sports, and venue management industry 


This internship will provide experience with sustainability initiatives, planning and reporting, as well as general venue operations. Interns will gain working knowledge and experience working with a portfolio of projects to support Oak View Group’s Sustainability Program including projects to address energy, water conservation, waste management, air quality, green mobility, and environmental stewardship.  


Internship details: 

  • Pay: $13.00 / hour 
  • Not to exceed 20 hours per week 
  • Internship Dates: Summer Semester (May-August) 
  • Location: Moody Center, on UT campus

  • Assist with coordinating and facilitating, Oak View Groups Sustainability policies, programs, and initiatives that promote local environmental, energy, economic, and social sustainability.  
  • Assist in tracking performance standards and metrics applicable to the environment, community health, safety, security, pollution prevention and abatement, and other policy areas as directed. 
  • Manage data collection to identify trends. 
  • Assist with writing reports describing program results and challenges.  
  • Coordinate training and public information efforts to ensure that Moody Center employees are knowledgeable, trained, and capable of carrying out their respective environmental responsibilities. 
  • Assist in training all arena staff create a “buy-in” culture for our sustainability program.  
  • Assist with record keeping.  
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 
  • Frequent bending, lifting 15-20 pounds, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building, exposure to loud noises, and standing for long periods of time. 


The qualifications listed below represent the credentials necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.   • High School diploma + 1 year of sustainability area of study.  
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in the most productive and/or appropriate manner. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work in a team setting. 
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Previous experience in a customer service-based industry is preferred. 
  • Previous experience within a sports, entertainment, or related field is preferred. 
  • Willingness to learn and open to coaching. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). 
  • High level of demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and ability to maintain sensitive information.
